North Carolina was Obama’s blue state in 2008

The News and Observer out of Raleigh, NC did feature a story in the focus of the Republican candidates and President Obama organization in the Tarheel State. Rick Santorum did bow out of the race, and the only candidate is Newt Gingrich in the Republican field of candidates. However, the change of fate does favor Mitt Romney in lieu of Rick Santorum being out of the race. However, the organizational genius is President Obama as the 13th campaign office was opened this week. In North Carolina politics, the unpredictable is the normal in North Carolina politics. The state did vote for President Obama in 2008, but voted the most conservative General Assembly two years later since the mid 1800's. North Carolina is peculiar state in its politics. Democrat or Republican should not take for granted the voting public and  sentiment in this state. Mitt Romney has the clear shot to the Republican Nomination for President, but he is far behind the Obama organizational structure in North … [Read more...]

The spectacle of Fox News leadership in CEO Roger Ailes

Ailes by observer.com

The two plus sides of political discussion in the media should be a welcome course of debate in both liberal and conservative circles. Roger Ailes CEO of Fox News spoke to UNC Journalism students this past week in Chapel Hill. No Holes Barred was the spectacle provided to the students at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. First, UNC is not the pinnacle of the conservative thought or movement. Chapel Hill and Carrboro are known as the pinnacle of liberalism including an openly gay mayor in the state of North Carolina. Second, the personal attacks on certain conservatives are from an executive with his personal agenda no matter the costs to Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid journalism. The inside source about the bias of Fox News against candidates other than Mitt Romney did direct the blame of the policy to Roger Ailes. The backing of Mitt Romney by Roger Ailes did impact coverage on Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. The source did provide praise to Sean Hannity as a genuine … [Read more...]

Boston.com/APGingrich revamps campaign to deny Romney delegates

Gingrich revamps campaign to deny Romney delegates. Associated Press March 28, 2012 LOS ANGELES²Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is drastically reorganizing his money- and delegate-deprived campaign, scaling back a traditional operation to focus on low-cost social media and an effort to cajole delegates to back him over front-runner Mitt Romney. One-third of Gingrich's campaign staff has been laid off and his campaign manager has been asked to resign, Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond said Tuesday night. The new strategy hinges on preventing Romney from winning the 1,144 delegates he needs for the nomination, Hammond said. Gingrich plans to spend much less time in primary states and will instead personally call delegates to try to persuade them to back him at the Republican National Convention in August. "We are not going to cede to Mitt Romney's strategy to take the party down," Hammond said. Ultimately, Gingrich would bring the fight to the convention floor, … [Read more...]

Worst Case Scenario for Republicans: President Obama

20120325-173256.jpg

The recent win in Illinois by Mitt Romney may have statistically brought Romney closer to securing the Republican nomination, but that does not stop the controversy from raging. Some insiders who spoke anonymous on the discontent within the party had one question "why". Why are the Republicans not attacking Obama instead of each other? Why is the establishment so gun-ho over Romney no matter what the cost? Why is Romney so electable against Obama when he is spending 7 to 1 in the primary with not impressive results ? One Republican insider speaking on condition of confidentiality is concerned about the ill focus fight against President Obama. The Republican infighting is leaving a breach of disrepair in the party. This breach is distracting the one common goal to defeat President Obama. As the insider discussed, " all concerted efforts should be made against President Obama, but instead all concerted efforts are being made to destroy ourselves(Republican Party)." As the insider … [Read more...]

Friday’s twist on this week’s news

20120316-061324.jpg

All in good fun on Friday...... Greg Smith wrote an Op-Ed piece in the NYT to explain his reasons for leaving Goldman.  The accusations of corrupt, soulless beings sitting in the Goldman Tower in New York was SOME big news...The big news was the NYT allowing an Op-Ed piece by a disgruntled employee....NOT A WHISTLEBLOWER.... Mitt Romney is cutting expenses and staff on his campaign as the nomination process is taking longer than expected. Things are so bad in the Romney camp that Romney had to entertain some donors in New York.  He walked away with $3 million dollars.....Do you think that the Romney's may need to apply for food stamps. $3 million dollars are hard times in the Romney household..... Newt Gingrich did not win any primaries this week.....Instead of bowing out....He receives Secret Service protection? WHAT? LAST ITEM....My mother was listen to the Gay XM, and she brought to my attention about Mitt Romney strapping a dog to the car for a family trip. The … [Read more...]

NBC News: Santorum wins Alabama and Mississippi

By Michael O'Brien, msnbc.com Updated 10:50 p.m. -- Rick Santorum scored victories in the Mississippi and Alabama primaries on Tuesday, depriving Mitt Romney of a signature win in a conservative stronghold and raising fresh doubts about the viability of Newt Gingrich's campaign. The former Pennsylvania senator made his case for being the lone, serious Republican challenger to Romney for the remainder of the primary by besting Gingrich in states the former speaker's campaign had previously said were essential to its long-term viability. “We did it again,” Santorum said to wild applause from supporters in Louisiana, and amid projections by NBC News that he would win both Mississippi and Alabama. Romney had hoped to score a victory in Mississippi, thereby proving his ability to win a state that composes part of the heart of the modern GOP. But he appeared to be heading to a third-place finish in both contests, failing to even surpass Gingrich, a candidate who’s … [Read more...]
