Romney could disarm Dodd-Frank but not repeal legislation

Romney proposals could disarm Dodd-Frank Published on September 10, 2012 by Alexandra Villarreal Mitt Romney Two proposals put forward by Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney could make it more difficult for U.S. regulatory agencies to implement the 2010 Dodd-Frank Act. Romney’s proposals would require agencies to eliminate existing regulations as new regulations are implemented, while Congress would gain the ability to more easily block the agencies’ regulatory proposals, Bank Investment Consultantreports. Sidney Shapiro, a law professor at Wake Forest University, said that Romney’s policies could lead to legal challenges and delays at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. and Federal Reserve Board. “I think it becomes another arrow in the industry’s quiver,” Shapiro said, according toBank Investment Consultant. Some regulatory experts who advocate similar policies say that federal regulators need to … [Read more...]

North Carolina was Obama’s blue state in 2008

The News and Observer out of Raleigh, NC did feature a story in the focus of the Republican candidates and President Obama organization in the Tarheel State. Rick Santorum did bow out of the race, and the only candidate is Newt Gingrich in the Republican field of candidates. However, the change of fate does favor Mitt Romney in lieu of Rick Santorum being out of the race. However, the organizational genius is President Obama as the 13th campaign office was opened this week. In North Carolina politics, the unpredictable is the normal in North Carolina politics. The state did vote for President Obama in 2008, but voted the most conservative General Assembly two years later since the mid 1800's. North Carolina is peculiar state in its politics. Democrat or Republican should not take for granted the voting public and  sentiment in this state. Mitt Romney has the clear shot to the Republican Nomination for President, but he is far behind the Obama organizational structure in North … [Read more...]

The spectacle of Fox News leadership in CEO Roger Ailes

Ailes by observer.com

The two plus sides of political discussion in the media should be a welcome course of debate in both liberal and conservative circles. Roger Ailes CEO of Fox News spoke to UNC Journalism students this past week in Chapel Hill. No Holes Barred was the spectacle provided to the students at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. First, UNC is not the pinnacle of the conservative thought or movement. Chapel Hill and Carrboro are known as the pinnacle of liberalism including an openly gay mayor in the state of North Carolina. Second, the personal attacks on certain conservatives are from an executive with his personal agenda no matter the costs to Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid journalism. The inside source about the bias of Fox News against candidates other than Mitt Romney did direct the blame of the policy to Roger Ailes. The backing of Mitt Romney by Roger Ailes did impact coverage on Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. The source did provide praise to Sean Hannity as a genuine … [Read more...]

Newt Gingrich is accurate on Fox News Bias

20120411-230256.jpg

A source with close ties to Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Fox News did disclose last month during a business luncheon about a recent trip to New York to meet with management and PrimeTime personalities of Fox News. That meeting was an eye opener about the Pro-Romney bias was the policy at Fox News, and the writing was on the wall in big red Fox News font...Romney or else...Santorum and Gingrich were dead in the water no matter what. This disclosure was from a respected and fair conservative in his professional and political associations. This disclosure could not have come from a more respected or connected person with knowledge of the situation. The announcement by Newt was 85% verbatim of the information disclosed last month. Newt Gingrich does have every right to criticize Fox News, because Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid in this Republican nomination process is almost calling MSNBC moderate. It is simply is not … [Read more...]

Mark Rubio endorsement of Romney is shameless

Mark Rubio endorses Romney and the endorsement made breaking news on the Drudge Report and Fox News. The Drudge Report sent announcements leading up to the Mark Rubio endorsement. The first term Florida Senator is a rising Republican icon, and and his endorsement came under speculation of  Romney choosing Rubio as the VP Running mate. Mark Rubio's endorsement of Romney holds as much credibility as Kim Kardashian endorsement of a Sunday  School class for me to attend. Rubio gives an outstanding endorsement and is denying consideration of the becoming the possible VP nominee. Mark Rubio did not have any political intent in his endorsement, and the endorsement was out of careful consideration of all the candidates. Why did Rubio wait until after the Florida primary to endorse Romney? The endorsement is useless at this point unless political advantage was to be had in this Mark Rubio announcement. The following article is from Fox News on the Rubio endorsement...I will follow up the … [Read more...]

Boston.com/APGingrich revamps campaign to deny Romney delegates

Gingrich revamps campaign to deny Romney delegates. Associated Press March 28, 2012 LOS ANGELES²Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is drastically reorganizing his money- and delegate-deprived campaign, scaling back a traditional operation to focus on low-cost social media and an effort to cajole delegates to back him over front-runner Mitt Romney. One-third of Gingrich's campaign staff has been laid off and his campaign manager has been asked to resign, Gingrich spokesman R.C. Hammond said Tuesday night. The new strategy hinges on preventing Romney from winning the 1,144 delegates he needs for the nomination, Hammond said. Gingrich plans to spend much less time in primary states and will instead personally call delegates to try to persuade them to back him at the Republican National Convention in August. "We are not going to cede to Mitt Romney's strategy to take the party down," Hammond said. Ultimately, Gingrich would bring the fight to the convention floor, … [Read more...]

The Worst Case Scenario for the Republican Party: Electability

The recent win in Illinois by Mitt Romney may have statistically brought Romney closer to securing the Republican nomination, but that does not stop the controversy from raging. Some insiders who spoke anonymous on the discontent within the party had one question "why". Why are the Republicans not attacking Obama instead of each other? Why is the establishment so gun-ho over Romney no matter what the cost? Why is Romney so electable against Obama when he is spending 7 to 1 in the primary with not impressive results ? One Republican insider speaking on condition of confidentiality is concerned about the ill focus fight against President Obama. The Republican infighting is leaving a breach of disrepair in the party. This breach is distracting the one common goal to defeat President Obama. As the insider discussed, " all concerted efforts should be made against President Obama, but instead all concerted efforts are being made to destroy ourselves(Republican Party)." As the … [Read more...]
