1-800-PACK-RAT e-mail exposes unethical hiring practices of the unemployed

Jessica Algood is a receipent of a phone call after completing her third interview with 1-800-PACK-RAT. The phone call is from Melissa Branch, Customer Call Center Manager, from 1-800-PACK-RAT, and she offers a position in the call center to Jessica with a tentative start date of November 28, 2011.Melissa Branch was waiting on the corporate office to provide an offer letter for a firm start date, and the delay was a corporate issue in a reassurance to Jessica. Melissa Branch did inform Jessica of her absence from work during the Thanksgiving holiday, and Melissa did promise to follow up with Jessica upon her return to the office on the last correspondence dated on November 25, 2011. Jessica Algood begins her morning as every other mother in preparing her children both 6 and 9 for the school day ahead. The last year has seen the routine of preparing both kids for school change as the spacious apartment home is replaced with a much smaller camper in the back of Jessica parent’s backyard. This last refuge is the only barrier between Jessica and her two children from being homeless and living on the streets. The children leave for school, and Jessica begins her daily routine of proactively searching for employment. Jessica is like many unemployed individuals in aggressively applying and searching for employment opportunities for she is aware of the competitive job market in lieu of a bad economy.
