The Deep Hate in Washington leads to the IRS targeting groups such as Tea Party

Reuters is reporting today that former acting Commissioner Steven Miller would not release any other IRS employees who were involved in the scandal that is rocking Washington. The ideological hate would make the Tea Party as a helpless victim of many conservative groups being targeted and unfairly being required to provide documents and information to obtain non-profit status by the IRS. One employee being deemed as the ring leader of the IRS targeting conservative groups is Sandra Hall Ingram as she was the leader for the department handling non-profit requests when this scandal began. She is now the IRS leader over Obamacare, and she has not been required to answer questions or was she named by former commissioner in Friday's hearings on Capitol Hill.  Sandra Hall Ingram has been deemed as a strong ideologue in a department that is necessary to be unbiased in all actions of the agency. Steven Miller is going to protect employees that are endangering our democracy and Ms. Ingram is … [Read more...]

Simply Frigid Sunday: Saturday snow comes after a warm Friday

20130217-161104.jpg

The little hobbies of life are the avenues to capture our interest the most. Weather is a personal favorite. My family resides in North Carolina, and DC has a difficult time being on the Potomac to have accumulating snow except for the 2009-2010 season. North Carolina has even more issues being in the mid-south.  The snow had to overcome a spring like Friday and temperatures in the 40's up to the time the snow began in earnest less than an hour after rain moved into the area. North Carolina residences were excited to see the heavy snowfall but most of the accumulations was lost to the warm soil temps. The snow was heavier east of Raleigh where my family resides. The snow was moderate to heavy in the early afternoon on Saturday. The ground finally turns white and the snowfall accumulations in the local area was around 2.0" of a thick wet heavy snow and roads were beginning to become covered in slush. Then the snowfall intensity was greatly reduced as light snow fell from 4 pm … [Read more...]

The American consumer is witnessing the trade-winds of fate as Greece default fears are easing, and collision course with the American economy seems to be avoided for now. The bond swap was dead in the water Wednesday morning until every commercial banking entity did accept the agreement of the swap, and momentum was brought into a swap. The momentum did ease jitters and pending disaster for the US economy. Even today, Greece seems optimistic on bond swap deal or the European moniker on "53.4% haircut on its debt. The bond swap is to shave $140 billion off the nations debt. The deadline is tonight at 8pm for at least 90% creditors to be in agreement of the swap. The final affirmative on the swap will spell relief for the American consumer. The economic recovery was gaining momentum in job creation, and consumer sentiment. The focus will be on tomorrow government jobs reports for the month of February. Only one small Georgia bank was closed by regulators on Friday bringing the total of bank failures to 12 for 2012 in comparison to 23 at this time in 2011. The reduction in bank failures alone states some improvement in the banking system in 2012, and the FDIC did affirm overall improvement in the banking sector in the recent release of the fourth quarter report. The report did show a broad improvement in the banking sector over 2011 including aggregate profits, reduction in number of banks troubled bank list, Deposit Insurance Fund continues to increase after going into the negative in 2010, and deposits did increase in the fourth quarter of 2011. The overall report does show a substantial improvement, but a collective sense of optimism will not be found to the dominant attitude. The FDIC did report improvement in the system, but one bank did fail on Friday to remind of the current economic frailty of the global economy. The global reminder of the precarious nature of the global … [Read more...]
