Employment discrimination targets the fabric of a free society

Discrimination is quietly accepted in the new world of employment

The recovery in the job market has not recovered to repair the catastrophic damage of the 2008 Recession and Financial Crisis to the job market in the United States. The recovery has been given terms of a competitive market or choices of so many well qualified applicants, and this fact is true with a wealth of educated, experienced applicants applying for lower level or paying jobs with excellent qualifications and trying to land a job in the market after losing employment due to the crisis. The employer was given an edge by a job market saturated with seekers, and the flexibility of choosing became acceptable in the workplace. However, the choosing has evolved in a job market where recovery is elusive 5 years after the crisis. Employment selection and termination is relative to the subjective as performance excellent does not guarantee job security.  Subjective decisions are becoming the litmus test to hire and fire, and subjective includes race, gender, sexual orientation, past … [Read more...]

Profiteering at the expense of the unemployed

America's unemployed access to opportunity photo courtesy of economy.ocregister.com

In the new American norm, the unemployed worker is being subjected to many forms of acceptable discrimination in the new economy. However, the widespread impact of many workers losing employment due to consequences beyond the realm of personal responsibility did not illicit empathy in American society.  The unemployed masses are facing insurmountable obstacles to return to as part of the mainstream American workforce. One of these obstacles is other entities profiteering on unemployment benefits as the unemployed attempt to obtain the necessary benefit or food stamp support to sustain a household until new employment is obtained As a safety net, unemployment benefits are the lifeline in a transition period for many workers in lieu of employment being terminated. The benefits are substantially less than earnings, and the recipient is dependent on this benefit to provide food, shelter, stability, etc. to self and household. The reality is that profiteering whether by illegal or … [Read more...]

Hiring Practices against the unemployed equal discrimination on a massive scale

great_depression (1)

Personal responsibility can only control many factors in an individual’s life. A recession is a factor out of control of the average day American worker, and the responsibility does fall on the executives in control of managing the business unit and environment properly to survive any downturns in the economy. The 2008 economic crisis will be viewed as a historical turning point in American society as 9/11 was for the country. 9/11 did change our free society into a negated society in lieu of national security, and 2008 may be viewed by many historians as the American loss of humanity in the plight of the unemployed. The redundant talk of pundits is the same on many news shows and business networks in describing the unemployed. The words lazy, unreliable, and lost skill-set are all used to describe the unemployed in America, and the reality is these words are a nice deflector to describe the situation of the unemployed in our country as hard core discrimination. Many corporations are … [Read more...]

Company hiring practices, government inaction make plight of US unemployed similar to a 1930’s Germany

RBC-night.jpg

The moral standard in America is becoming more empirical and aristocratic as our nation is transitioning in a new century trying to finding footing as being a nation of life, liberty, and justice for all, or a nation losing the moral righteousness to be nation with the ability to govern itself or retain its power in global affairs. Germany after 1933 was a nation for everyone except the Jews, homosexuals, Freemasons, and anyone falling under the undesirable category by the Third Reich. The evolving nature of living in Germany as an undesirable was an agenda in silence as The Third Reich obtained power, and the silent agenda of discrimination did seep into becoming the societal acceptance to outright persecution and extermination by the time Germany was defeated 12 years later by the Allies in 1945. The plight of the unemployed in America is becoming a blight to any land proclaiming itself as leader of the free world, for American experience of being unemployed even with a historical … [Read more...]
