North Carolina was Obama’s blue state in 2008

The News and Observer out of Raleigh, NC did feature a story in the focus of the Republican candidates and President Obama organization in the Tarheel State. Rick Santorum did bow out of the race, and the only candidate is Newt Gingrich in the Republican field of candidates. However, the change of fate does favor Mitt Romney in lieu of Rick Santorum being out of the race. However, the organizational genius is President Obama as the 13th campaign office was opened this week. In North Carolina politics, the unpredictable is the normal in North Carolina politics. The state did vote for President Obama in 2008, but voted the most conservative General Assembly two years later since the mid 1800's. North Carolina is peculiar state in its politics. Democrat or Republican should not take for granted the voting public and  sentiment in this state. Mitt Romney has the clear shot to the Republican Nomination for President, but he is far behind the Obama organizational structure in North … [Read more...]

The spectacle of Fox News leadership in CEO Roger Ailes

Ailes by observer.com

The two plus sides of political discussion in the media should be a welcome course of debate in both liberal and conservative circles. Roger Ailes CEO of Fox News spoke to UNC Journalism students this past week in Chapel Hill. No Holes Barred was the spectacle provided to the students at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. First, UNC is not the pinnacle of the conservative thought or movement. Chapel Hill and Carrboro are known as the pinnacle of liberalism including an openly gay mayor in the state of North Carolina. Second, the personal attacks on certain conservatives are from an executive with his personal agenda no matter the costs to Fair, Balanced, and Unafraid journalism. The inside source about the bias of Fox News against candidates other than Mitt Romney did direct the blame of the policy to Roger Ailes. The backing of Mitt Romney by Roger Ailes did impact coverage on Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich. The source did provide praise to Sean Hannity as a genuine … [Read more...]

Personal Note: Recovery from a procedure

20120410-080854.jpg

I was in DC last week, and I came back to North Carolina to have a small cyst removed at Duke. I have a history and my experience is always superb at Duke. I did undergo some additional tests that are evasive, but I had zero issues with the tests. I was allowed to go home with major concerns resolved. However, I developed a nightmare of a headache and I came back to Duke for observation and undergo another procedure to cure my headache. I have a storytelling for oral journalists to visit with a new media partner. I am in the hospital but 2 iPhones capability ; work must go on!!! Thank you... … [Read more...]

Europe and Spain is smaller blueprint for US debt crisis

domino

The debt crisis is being played out publicly in Europe, and the play is country by country in the Euro Zone. The recent debt negotiation by Greece with its creditors was not enough to stave off any additional crisis in the short term. Spain's issues are now coming to the forefront in the sovereign debt crisis. Recent bond offerings by Spain have been received poorly. Refinancing of Spain's debt is essential to keep the country solvent in 2012, and the poor performance of Spain's bond offerings have moved this country solvency to the forefront. What does debt do in a society like Greece or Spain? Are we seeing the same impact in America? When is the tipping point for Europe and America? America is the world's reserve currency and dominates the world's financial system, and we are able to kick the debt can along longer without consequences being realized quickly as in the Eurozone. Basically, America can print more money if needed. It is unwise but a tool at the country's disposal. … [Read more...]

American influence weakens against global threats

Ostriches stick their heads in a hole out of fear.....We must face our fear because some causes of our fear is not necessary.

American influence continues to weakens in matters of global influence on rogue states that pose a threat to national interests. Dynamic solutions in American foreign policy in dealing with Iran and North Korea are as paramount as an ostrich sticking his head in a hole. The impact of  sanctions seem to dent somewhat these regimes on the surface, but the reality is these regimes are surviving enough to support a weapons program to threaten the interests of America. The activities of covert programs  of our nation along with partner allies are unknown in the analysis of this report, but two news stories are making headlines as American influence flounders in the geo-political stage of the 21st Century. North Korea completes launch pad to send a rocket into orbit, and Iran's Sovereign Wealth Fund is projected to surpass $55 billion. American influence seems to be precarious as the economic weakness and domestic debt to foreign nations as damper of the ability to counterbalance. In … [Read more...]

What is next for the US economy?

unemployment.jpg

The March jobs report show a slowdown in job creation that has been a part of the job recovery in recent months. The number of jobs created for the month of March did register at 120,000 compared with 200,000 plus for December, January, and February, and the unemployment did decrease by .1% to 8.2%. The uncertainties in the US economy are many in numbers including higher gas prices, European debt crisis, and potential conflict in the Middle East over the Iranian nuclear program. The number of jobs created since December including March’s employment do total 858,000 jobs, and this total marks the best four months in hiring in over two years. Many additional factors do play into a weak March jobs report including the warmer winter in the United States that sparked an earlier hiring season than in previous years, and this month was a hiccup in the job recovery. Gas, Europe, and Iran will play a role over the short term impact of the economic and job recovery. The weak numbers for March … [Read more...]
