The recent win in Illinois by Mitt Romney may have statistically brought Romney closer to securing the Republican nomination, but that does not stop the controversy from raging. Some insiders who spoke anonymous on the discontent within the party had one question “why”. Why are the Republicans not attacking Obama instead of each other? Why is the establishment so gun-ho over Romney no matter what the cost? Wy is Romney so electable against Obama when he is spending 7 to 1 in the primary with not impressive results ?

One Republican insider speaking on condition of confidentiality is concerned about the ill focus fight against President Obama. The Republican infighting is leaving a breach of disrepair in the party. This breach is distracting the one common goal to defeat President Obama. As the insider discussed, ” all concerted efforts should be made against President Obama, but instead all concerted efforts are being made to destroy ourselves(Republican Party).” As the insider described, we (Republicans) are handing the election of 2012 to President Obama, and the Republican Party can blame no one but itself.

Another worst case scenario is the establishment of the Republican party. Donor, political consultants, and others in the party are claiming that the establishment is supporting Mitt Romney with no holes barred, and no consideration is Mitt Romney is the best candidate against President Obama. The establishment is so concentrated on the nomination of Mitt Romney that a political donor stated that at a recent conference . All donors were instructed to support Mitt Romney, and the donor stated that there was no choice on who he had  to support for the nomination. In addition, news outlets such as Fox News have been instructed to paint a rosy picture of  Mitt Romney. An insider states that the establishment is using every means possible to control the outcome of the Republican nomination for President, and and the establishment’s outcome has one candidate in mind that is Mitt Romney. The question by a number of Republicans outside the establishment is “why”? Why is the establishment throwing all the effort behind one candidate without regards of the free will of the people? It is the establishment’s way or no way. Why? Is this a democracy? Or Communism?
