E*Trade Stock Up 6% Today and 20% since March 6

etrade

I was checking through my portfolio on Google Finance when I realized that I made some changes on March 6, and E*Trade has always been a small part of my benign portfolio. However, I went back to check on bank stocks and I was taken back by E*Trade's surge today. However, I was more shocked over the stock  has increased 20% since March 6. Where does the madness end? … [Read more...]

This Election: Beware of the Ides of March

The soothsayer warns Julius Caesar of the pending danger on March 15. Beware of the Ides of March was a fancier way in the Roman times to say March 15. The Ides of March became the doom and gloom when Julius Caesar was assassinated in 44BC, and Shakespeare brought the capture of story and theater to add the dramatics to keep the story of Ides of March in the back of the human mind. Julius Caesar did put fate into motion as he had established a temporary dictatorship as removal the democratic principles in Roman political hierarchy. The assignation on March 15 did end his dictatorial reign to bring back to early practice of democratic principles in Roman government. In our current modern times, we have political discourse without resorting to such drastic measures. The luxury of voting and voice grants us political recourse to make changes in our democratic system of government. The Ides of March is a reminder that we are not Romans. We are Americans, and our responsibility is to be … [Read more...]

Denver Cop accuses girlfriend of domestic violence involving a Justin Bieber doll

Michael Nuanes, Denver cop, busted in domestic violence beef involving Justin Bieber doll By Michael Roberts Mon., Mar. 12 2012 at 11:53 AM Michael Nuanes. Why has Justin Bieber's name surfaced amid allegations of domestic violence against Denver Police officer Michael Nuanes? Because Nuanes accuses his girlfriend of injuring him by hurling a Bieber doll at him. The girlfriend, for her part, says Nuanes did considerably more damage. With his fists. As noted by 7News, which features a detailed item about the current charge, Nuanes has made headlines in the past for a violent act. However, that event involved a member of the public -- David Nettles -- rather than a personal acquaintance. This earlier happening is shorthanded in the still-pending lawsuit spawned by an alleged (and still-pending) police brutality incident at the Denver Diner in 2009. The paragraph appears in a portion of the document intended to establish a pattern of behavior on … [Read more...]

This Election is about Freedom: The Dynasty is dying in toxic ideology

All Good Things...Our Democracy has become our Dynasty of Pretend...Monopoly money and dollar is the pending parity as banking system is broken and the government is insolvent. The Dynasty is dying and This Election is Our Election 2012 to reclaim freedom and democracy. My humanity is above ideology, and I welcome all whom beliefs that the protection and restoration of our freedom’s and prosperity is imperative. The difference is that we restore quality, value, and community back into the equation. We as Americans can do better, and we must do better or leave a shell of a society for the future generations to endure. As the Dynasty is dying, the reality is that the quality of life and personal freedoms are in decline for a majority of Americans including higher income individuals. The recent credit crisis was not isolated to the subprime borrower or personal irresponsible members of society. As a former banker, many intellectual and high-income individuals were placed in … [Read more...]

Goldman exec finds humanity after 12 years and writes resignation OP-ED in NYT

SEO is not a major concern after the long article title, but SEO cannot capture the surreal nature of the following story. Greg Smith leaves Goldman Sachs after 12 years, and he is given an OP-ED opportunity  at the New York Times to publicly call everyone an inhumane jackal. I was a former Vice President and Market Executive in the banking industry for 13 years, and I did exit the industry a short period of time after the 2008 financial crisis. I rather make less money or  dig ditches than  to compromise my core principles and values to uphold policies and actions that were completely wrong. I did not have a four year hiccup in making my decision to exit.   This individual does wait a period of four years after the crisis to explode across the OP-ED pages of the New York Times as the righteous soul to criticize his former employer. I do not doubt that Goldman has issues, and I have no doubt about some of the business practices in the name of profit....... However, … [Read more...]

Taste of Summer in March…What about April Fool’s?

IMG_1014.JPG

Payback is the opportune word when discussing 80 degree plus warmth in March in Washington, DC and Raleigh, NC. What veracity does winter have left in the month of April? An October snow was the unexpected bite of snow and cold in New England. What about the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-South snowfall potential in the month of April? Along with a few snow pics of past seasons. I have pulled the data for the latest measurable snowfall in Washington, DC and Raleigh, NC. The data may surprise some individuals..... Raleigh, NC - The latest accumulating snowfall was 1.8" on April 18, 1983...... Washington, DC saw the latest measurable snowfall of .5 inches on April 28, 1898.... A little food for thought....
